Welcome to my Web Site!
Hi! I’m Mike D’Angelo and I’m delighted that you have visited my web site.
As a professional Exercise Physiologist and Personal Trainer, I hope to have a great influence beyond my clients in Boston through an interactive Internet experience; this blog will be part of that!
Before you begin to realize how I can help develop a specialized program for you leading toward you achieving all your health and fitness goals, take a moment to learn more about me. How I came upon my career is what sparks enthusiasm for my mission.
My book knowledge includes a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology
and certification as an instructor in health and fitness from the American College of Sports Medicine. I earned their advanced Personal Trainer’s Certificate, as well.
Therefore, I am certified to train individuals on a national level.
I practice what I preach. However, it is my personal experience over the years that have boosted my knack of engaging these principles I’ve learned in school for individuals as they develop their fitness goals with my programs.
Profile for Personal Training
How did I become a personal trainer? It started when I was in college. Back then I made the decision that I wanted to go full steam ahead into the exercise physiology field. There was such a strong interest in it for me, I was crazy about it. I would have classes all day, go into work for a couple hours, do my homework, train a client or two, get in my own training then go home and study some more for an exam. I’m talking about having the entire day filled with exercise related stuff. I would crawl into bed exhausted only to prop my head up on a pillow and read from a muscle magazine before passing out.
I had to figure out what I was going to do to make a living at this field I loved to much. Clinical Exercise Physiology in a medical setting was very interesting to me. So I applied and got accepted to finish the Clinical aspect of my degree from Boston University Medical Center.
After being there for a while I began to question the path I chose. These people were exercising because they had to on account of their present health condition. That was the point that drove me to begin work as a personal trainer where I got work on the preventive side of medicine, which is where I felt I could have a positive impact on people’s lives, which for me consists in getting people to exercise and take care of themselves before dis-ease (disease) of the body has the chance to set in.
What I learned from that experience was how delicate the human body is. I gained a lot of respect for the medical community and what they do, but it was not my place. It feels so right to be on the preventive side of things and motivate people to strengthen their bodies from the inside out: Building strength, endurance, and flexibility right down to immune function and self-confidence. This side of the field for me has a lot of motivational potential. I get psyched thinking about watching and guiding people into taking control of their health with the tools I give them.
For all of you who are entering my site for the first time, I really hope that within it you can find the tools and information you need to start a process of physical and mental transformation that will allow you to evolve your body and your mind to new levels of achievement and confidence. And for all of you returning here, I wish that the techniques and methods you learned here and applied in your workout are helping you to achieve your ideal physical and mental aspirations.
